Triassic

The Triassic is a geologic period and system that extends from about 250 to 200 Ma (million years ago). It is the first period of the Mesozoic Era, and lies between the Permian and Jurassic periods. Both the start and end of the period are marked by major extinction events. The Triassic was named in 1834 by Friedrich Von Alberti, after the three distinct rock layers (tri meaning "three") that are found throughout Germany and northwestern Europe—red beds, capped by chalk, followed by black shales—called the 'Trias.'

Jurassic

The Jurassic is a geologic period and system that extends from about 199.6± 0.6 Mya (million years ago) to 145.5± 4 Mya, that is, from the end of the Triassic to the beginning of the Cretaceous. The Jurassic constitutes the middle period of the Mesozoic era, also known as the age of reptiles. The start of the period is marked by the major Triassic–Jurassic extinction event. However, the end of the period did not witness any major extinction event. The Jurassic is named after the Jura Mountains within the European Alps, where limestone strata from the period was first identified.

Colorado, 150 million years ago

The Jurassic was the time of giants, when dinosaurs became the true lords of the land. In Colorado, the situation is no different. Here, vast conifer forests & fern praries cover most of the landscape with a few rivers & lakes dotted all around. Perfect enviroment for any dinosaur, predator & prey alike. A true paradise for dinosaurs off all kinds, from sauropods to the mighty Allosaurus.

Portugal, 150 Million Years Ago

Portugal is a large island, where many species of exotic dinosaurs live. Most of them don't exist anywhere else on earth, while others live on other continents as well. These include the famous Allosaurus, the huge Torvosaurus, and the long necked Dinheirosaurus.

Cretaceous

The Cretaceous, derived from the Latin "creta" (chalk), usually abbreviated K for its German translation Kreide (chalk), is a geologic period and system from circa 145.5 ± 4 to 65.5 ± 0.3 million years (Ma) ago. In the geologic timescale, the Cretaceous follows the Jurassic period and is followed by the Paleogene period of the Cenozoic era. It is the youngest period of the Mesozoic era, and at 80 million years long, the longest period of the Phanerozoic Eon. The end of the Cretaceous defines the boundary between the Mesozoic and Cenozoic eras. In many languages this period is known as "chalk period".

Mongolia, 80 million years ago

The region of what is today's Gobi desert in Mongolia is a dangerous place to live as a dinosaur. The ecosystem is anything but normal, with temperatures of up to 50°C and vast dunes of sand stretching out into the distance. Droughts are very long, and predators are more obundant than herbivores. There is a forest to the south, with milder climate and dozens of oasis around the desert, but as far as the eye can see, there is mostly sand. Enter at your own risk!

Canada, 75 million years ago

A vast landscape of plains and boreal forest stretches for as far as the eye can see, and it is rich in animal life. However, further in the north, the climate is colder and life is harder for the dinosaurs, that prefer warmer weather. Some, like Gorgosaurus, evolved feathers. Herbivores thrive here, but predators are also on the prowl, so watch your back...
